Typewritten caption: "No man is so isolated as the man in jail. Dead time between arrest and trial is occupied by suspects with newspapers, listless conversation, dominoes and just waiting. Some people call this "crime school". It is during this period that the public defender prepares his case. Each suspect must, by law, be brought to trial within 60 days after having been charged with an offense. Time spent in jail before sentence has no bearing on sentence and is not taken into consideration by the court."
